This is Cinta (pronounced Chinta) which means "love" in Indonesian. She is the daughter of our friend Komang who plays bass every night in our band. When Komang missed playing music with us for several nights, we learned that he had been at the hospital with Cinta. We found out she was born with heart defects and now, at age 3, her survival depends on having heart surgery.
Komang's family and friends have amazingly pulled together, through cash and loans, almost $3,000 of the $5,000 needed for the first surgery. We are reaching out for help to make a $2000 contribution to the surgery and a bit extra to cover their expenses.
